Villers-Marmery, Montagne de Reims Champagne, France The original Henriet family specialised in Champagne production wheras the Bazins were grape growers. For five generations they have worked the worked the soils of their 14.88 hectares of Grand-Cru and Premier-Cru vineyards. Marie-Noëlle, the current viticultrice and producer takes pride in her terroir above all else. Her 36 prized plots of chalky / gravel land are distributed over three villages: Villers-Marmery (Premier Cru), Verzenay and Verzy, which are Grand Cru. Villers-Marmery is the only village planted with Chardonnay (98%). Most all other surrounding villages on the Montagne de Reims are planted with Pinot Noir. Henriet-Bazin use classic vinification in tank, no oak is utilised and malo-lactic fermentations are blocked for all cuvees
