Oreste Buzio

Piedmont, Italy Oreste Buzio is a small family estate that has been producing wines typical of Monferrato, Piedmont, since 1860. Located in Vignale Monferrato, a village centered within the rolling hills of Monferrato Casalese, this is a traditional estate with a clean, more delicate style. The focus is on grape varieties indigenous to the area, particularly Barbera, Grignolino and Freisa. The Buzio family subterranean winery is in the basement of the main house. It is unique as this spacious cellar is dug out of tuff, a chalky, limestone which is the usual subsoil of the region. The wines of Oreste Buzio are all organic; the family works with nature, using sustainable methods in both their viticulture and vinification.
