Chablis "Le Vendangeur Masqué", De Moor - 2020

Item # 34426 750mL

Olivier and Alice De Moor continue to make incredible white wines from Chablis. Each year is an expression of the growing season, the age of the vines and stylistically very impressive. You'll find their wines complex and unique year in and out. This cuvée comes completely from Courgis, of a little vineyard which they rented in 2016 and which is in the first year of conversion to organic.

Staff Pick Notes

Alice and Olivier De Moor are well known in the organic and natural wine world. They run a small domaine of 7 hectares in the Chablis area. (Yes, Chablis does have some lands that are organically farmed, and more and more winemakers are embracing organic practices). Because of their small production, they also buy grapes from other domaines. The Vendangeur Masqué Esquisse is made from chardonnay grapes purchased from their friend Gerald Oustric from Domaine du Mazel in the Ardeche departement in southern France. Even though this wine has the De Moore elegant touch, this chardonnay tastes like the south of France. Structured with minerality, light fruits, a bit fuller than Chablis style, it is not overly shy, and will go well with sharp cheese or white meat.

It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
