Produced at a distillery located at the base of Mount Etna nestled into the local famed orange groves, Amaro Dell'Etna is made from the original 1901 recipe. Notes include bitter orange, spicy rhubarb, sarsaparilla, dried green herbs, vanilla and powdered cocoa. A great digestif or modifier in cocktails.
Amaro is a very popular after meal drink from Italy that combines flavor from herbs, fruits or botanicals from the area where it is produced. Usually examples from North Italy contain more bitter herbs, typical of the Alps. In the South, where a lot of citrus family plants grow, orange and lemon peel is a common flavor. Amaro dell'Etna comes from Sicily but from higher altitudes and it combines these two flavor profiles. While you have bitterly flavors in the beginning, you will have a smooth citrus finish at the end. With an ice cube, it's fantastic!!!
