Narince, Vinkara - 2022

750 mL
Item # 42547

This is made from the local white grape of Narince (Nah-rin-djeh) which aptly translates to 'delicately' in Turkish. This comes from the Tokat area in the Black Sea wine growing region in the village of Tokat which flanks the lengthy Halys river. Deliciously dry and aromatic on the palate. Unoaked.

Staff Pick Notes

This is a beautiful crisp white wine from the Central Anatolia that right in the middle of Turkey. Winemaking in this region can be dated back for thousands of years and Turkey actually has one of the stronger claims to being the birthplace of wine cultivation in the ancient world along with Georgia. Narince is one of around 800 indigenous grape varietals, these indigenous grapes are the focus of the Vinkara winery and this one is a treat. Full of delicate floral aromas and a dry mineral finish, the Narince reminds me of many old world white wines which it definitely is.
