Staff Pick Notes

This superb reserve Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the great Rutherford vineyard, owned by Frank Family Vineyards, considered to have one of better tasting rooms in Napa. It was first constructed in 1884 and was the base of Kornell Champagne Cellars in the 1950s before Rich Frank (former president of Walt Disney Studios) bought it in 1992. Derived from stellar vineyard sites, this charming wine exhibits the Rutherford appellation’s signature earthy and dusty-road tone. Fresh with notes of cassis, mocha, red currant, and minerals. Full-bodied, bold, and well structured, it shows an underlying softness and finds plenty of length and refinement. Shining in toasted oak, blackberries, and cinnamon. Dark chocolate lingers around a subtle hint of vanilla on the finish.
