Tasting Notes
The undeniable sunshine of Southern France comes through with full on fleshy, fruit-forward, scrumptious black currants and cassis. An unblemished Cabernet and Merlot blend, darkly aromatic with a wealth of plums on the nose and palate, textured by soft tannins. Pair this red as the French do, with rare steak and a nugget of blue cheese.

Languedoc-Roussillon has been producing wine forever and is where I often look when seeking spectacular value. This wine by husband and wife team Marie-Claude and Jean-Louis Poudou shows what Côteaux de Peyrac has to offer.
This is an enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend and all the classic notes are here; cassis, black licorice, plums, and even some light herbs. This is a perfect pair with midweek roast, meatloaf or porkchops and has enough fruit to be enjoyable by itself!

The result of an illicit affair a hundred-odd years ago between Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon today enjoys more worldwide popularity than both of its parents combined. It is the principal grape of Bordeaux, and as such has rightly earned its place among the greatest and most long-lived wines of the Old World; of course, it is also the most heralded grape of California,...
