Practicing Organic

Wine made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides in the vineyard.

Tasting Notes

A delightful blend of three varieties coming from seven parcels just south of Epernay, the Marne Valley and the Côte de Blancs. Part of the wine is fermented in old oak barrels, yet on the palate you'll find an exquisitely refined Champagne that is elegant and full of lively fruit aromas. This isn't just an apéritif wine, but can also work throughout a dinner - especially if seafood is on the menu.

Staff Pick Notes

Lahèrte is a no-brainer, meaning you don't need to think twice before grabbing this bottle. The classic triad of Champagne grapes, coming from vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne, are blended carefully into this extra brut cuvée. The chalky minerality that Champagne is known for is on full display here. Citrus mousse and tart pears are pierced with tangy, savory notes to round out the sensory experience on the palate. Pair with seafood crudite or salade olivier. It's a bullseye of energy and verve in every sip. If only all decisions in life were this easy.

Terroir,...

Remember that “Non-Vintage” (NV) is not a dirty word here: NV Champagnes are blends of wines from the best growing seasons. But if you can find one, try a Champagne made by a Grower-Producer. These winemakers control every...

Chardonnay

From Champagne to Chablis, it's hard (not to mention unpleasant) to avoid this famous white variety. During a huge popularity surge beginning in the late 1980s, Chardonnay plantings have increased dramatically -- not only in California's wine country, with which the variety is nearly synonymous, but also in Burgundy (its original, Old World home) and just about everywhere else in the winemaking...
