Tasting Notes

From 50 year old Grenache and Mourvèdre vines comes this Lirac - an appellation in the southern Rhône Valley well worth exploring if you're craving a fuller-bodied red wine. The wine is tannic, full of dark berried aromas. The wine was aged in old demi-muid casks before bottling.

Staff Pick Notes

If you want to become a wine connoisseur and learn tasting techniques, this wine is a perfect tool: Sip a small amount of this wine and allowing some air in your mouth gently let it stay in like a mouth wash. All the flavors will explode: It will show concentration and intensity.Flavors of candied red fruit will linger in your mouth. You will notice silky a silky texture and a well structured tannin. The Mourvedre grape gives away the body and the alcohol, the Grenache grape will give perfume and flavor of red fruit. This wine shows boldly the different aspects of a wine. Easy to understand but still full of character.Because of its full body and character, I would paired with spicy food or grilled meat . But let it breath for about an hour before drink it. It will open up and share with you its personality!!!

Rhône-style blends are cropping up all over the world, and one of the classic tried-and-true combinations is "GSM," or Grenache-Syrah-Mourvèdre. The "M" contributes focus and...
