This is an unoaked white wine made from Verdelho and Antão Vaz. The Herdade de Cebolal winery was founded in the late 1900s and is located in the Setubal region just miles from the Atlantic ocean. From the winemaking to the vineyard practices, care is local: fertilizer is seaweed from the ocean and sheep are used for pest control and to graze the land.

Herdade de Cebolal is located on the Costa Alentejana at the southern end of the Setubal Peninsula, just few miles from the Atlantic Ocean. This beautiful coastal region of Portugal is more famous for its red wine production, but excellent white wine is also produced. This wine is an example of it. The winery was founded 150 years ago and it has been run by the same family since then. This great fresh wine is made with three local indigenous Portuguese grapes varieties, Boal, Antao Vaz, and Arinto. It has tropical and citrus aromas, nectarine and green apple flavors followed by a pleasant smooth salinity and minerality . Great by itself, I would also pair it with pasta dishes or pork.
