Ransom Old Tom Gin

Item # 22481 750mL

This is part malted grain mash and part infused botanicals in neutral spirits. Ransom distills them separately once and then marries them for the second distillation. The spirit is then aged for a time in barrel. Classic story of gin meets whisky; it was love at first taste.

Staff Pick Notes

This Old Tom works as a perfect backbone for the Martinez, the latest common ancestor of a large family of cocktails, like the manhattan and martini. This gin lends a malty sweetness, alongside a complex bouquet of nuanced botanicals that highlight all the features of this cocktail: deep complexity and layers of aromas and flavors. In a martinez, the Ransom gives a rich, malty structure on which nutty cherry pit, tangy Spanish vermouth, and funky, dark Boker’s bitters can play together. Alternatively, Ransom is a great sipper on its own.

Combine that with good drainage and poor soils, and you’ve got the perfect environment...
