Tasting Notes

This small-batch Islay gin uses nine of the classic gin aromatics – orris root, cassia bark, coriander seed, etc – augmented with a heady harvest of 22 wild, native island botanicals, hand-picked from the windswept hills, peat bogs and atlantic shores of this Hebridean island of Islay.

The Botanist Islay Dry Gin

The Botanist is an artisanal gin made by Bruichladdich Distillery in Islay, Scotland. That's right... The small isle is more famous for their peaty scotch whisky, but as evidenced by this spectacular spirit, it can produce a top notch gin too! The Botanist is small batched and made from 22 herbs and botanicals that are hand foraged right on Islay, and then distilled over 17 hours! That care results in an aromatic gin that is smooth, delicious, and a perfect match for any gin based cocktail. Aromas from the two different types of juniper are expertly balanced by the notes of herbs and spices. My favorite way to drink it is on the rocks with a lemon twist, Enjoy!
