Evan Williams Bottled in Bond Bourbon

"Bottled in Bond" is an old school bourbon term that was created for the consumer as an assurance of quality. By some, it's considered an archaic phrase that many distillers have done away with. But considering that Evan Williams is Kentucky's first commercial distillery, it's pretty neat that they've held onto the traditional labeling. This one's a sipper or a mixer. I especially enjoy higher-proof whiskeys in cocktails, because the extra "oomph" manages to punch through the other ingredients. Don't let the price tag trick you into believing you cant enjoy this bottle by its lonesome. Expect the classic caramel, vanilla and oak flavors on the palate. The smoothness is even miraculously unaffected by the higher proof. You've had a bad college experience with Mr. Williams you say? That's not his fault! Give him another shot.
