Joseph Washington Dant is a very old American Whiskey label named after the man who used to distill it in the early 19th Century using a log still made from hollowed out oak at the time to make the spirit. While things have modernized a bit, this whiskey is still decidedly old school both in character and cost delivering a reliable quality product for a solid value. The Bourbon is rich in flavors of pecan pie, apple streudel, cinnamon stick, maple syrup, roasted marshmallow and warm, buttered cornbread.

Expensive bourbon got you down? JW Dant is a sleeper; a great bourbon at a really approachable price. I use this primarily for mixing but it's delicious on its own as well: decadent with a lot of rich, warm notes evoking apple pastry, marshmallow, and roasted pecans.
