Todd Leopold manages to coax a tremendous amount of complexity out of this traditional Italian digestif while avoiding the heavy handidness too commonly found here. With a core of bitter roots, the addition of rose petals, elderflower, honeysuckle, chamomile and mint brings layers and layers of flavor to an already impressive profile. The spirit is aged in used Chardonnay barrels and bottled by hand to preserve the full flavor of each batch. Definitely one of the best fernets on the shelf.
