Jean-Marc Roulot Apricot Liqueur

Item # 40415 1L

The Roulot estate is one of the most important and historic domaines in the world of wine. Lesser known is their deep passion for distilled spirits of which they have been producers for over 100 years. The exceptional Bergeron apricots exclusively used for this mind-blowing liqueur are grown for Roulot by another of the world's greatest, historic winemakers, Jean Louis Chave. The natural infusion of the fruit in spirit yields a spirit low in added sugar and deep in flavor ranging from the fresh orchards nectars of budding spring stone fruits, to concentrated baked tarts and rich preserves.

Staff Pick Notes

After drinking this, I wondered, “Why would I have apricots in any other form?” A quality liqueur is one that offers the fruit it’s made from in as natural a form as possible. The aroma is as fresh and vivid as an actual apricot under your nose. The palate is as juicy as the fruit’s flesh while offering the richness of preserved apricots. These are grown by Jean Louis Chave and distilled by Meursault’s famous Roulot. This is like having a Michelin-starred kitchen make you sandwich. The final product goes far beyond what you imagined.

Burgundy

The range of wine styles offered in Burgundy rivals that of any other region. In Chablis, Chardonnay is left unoaked to produce lean, crisp, steely wines with incredible acidity - a far cry from the vanilla-oak bombs that so many consumers associate with this grape. Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness of a California wine, yet retain a very Burgundian, mineral-driven core and great acidity....
