Santa Teresa 1796 results from a careful blend of their finest aged spirits that is further aged in a style borrowed from the Spanish sherry producers. It is the first premium añejo rum in the world to be aged in the Solera method, which is unique to the entire rum world.
Venezuela is blessed by incredible landscapes, several Guinness records (largest waterfall in the world, most impressive lightning bolts, highest cable car, Largest rainforest), and two Miss Universe crowns in a row. The most special thing is the warmth, joy, and talent of its kind people who create wonderful jewels like this rum. It’s molasses-based and produced mostly, but not entirely, from sugarcane grown at Hacienda Santa Teresa (which has more than 200 years of tradition of fabrication of aged rums). The distillery operates both a multi-column continuous still and a pot still. The 1796 rum is a combination of column distilled and pot still distilled rums. Bold, elegant, dry, smooth, and balanced rum with blends that are aged for up to 35 years in bourbon oak barrels, which then go through the artisanal Solera method.
