Lioco Chardonnay, Sonoma County - 2023

Item # 18154 750 mL

Lioco has created this Chardonnay from a blend of different sources, with all fruit grown in dried creek beds throughout the Russian River. The wine is left in contact with the lees for six months, in large neutral oak casks, and it is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Fresh citrus notes play against a creamy mouthfeel.

Staff Pick Notes

For those looking for a California Chardonnay with more character and less oak look no farther! Lioco is known for the minimal intervention production style and this wine, while just the introduction to their portfolio, showcases their approach beautifully. Sourced throughout Sonoma county this Chardonnay has a wonderfully crisp, acidic drive thanks to the foggy demeanor of the region. Shale, tangerines, and meyer lemon burst off the nose while more rich lemon custard and herbaceous thyme become apparent on the palate. This is a great pairing with fried fish, sauteed brocollini, or creamy chicken. Lightly chill and enjoy!
