Coonawarra

South Australia's Coonawarra region has the same limestone-rich soil found in some areas of McLaren Vale. Surrounded on two sides by water on what is known as the “limestone coast,” Coonawarra is subject to ample rainfall and the cooling influences of the Indian Ocean - in short, exceptional growing conditions. These wines tend toward a more supple and elegant style, featuring lots of berried fruits with a bit more of the bright acidity that grapes grown in limestone-rich soils tend to have, with a rich, round mouthfeel and soft tannins.
