Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth

Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth is one of the most classic and reliable Italian sweet vermouths: smooth and spiced, with notes of vanilla, caramel, herbs, and a touch of citrus that brings balance without overpowering the drink. It’s an approachable but consistently interesting aromatic base. It works beautifully in cocktails like my favorite, the Negroni: 1 part gin (preferably with a strong juniper profile), 1 part Campari, 1 part Martini Rosso, served over ice-ideally a large cube to control dilution-and finished with an orange peel. The vermouth is essential here: it softens Campari’s bitterness and creates a round, elegant structure. It’s my go-to when I want something bold but balanced. A cocktail that doesn’t need reinvention-when done right, it always works.
