Château Meyney’s vineyard is planted mostly to Cabernet Sauvignon then Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. This unusually high share of the rarer Petit Verdot explains a particular trait of the wines, which regularly show notes of leather and musk after years of age. Château Meyney's superbly located vines are planted on a contiguous, 51 hectare plot that overlooks the Gironde river. It's this very river that protects the vines during the cold season and allows for wind during the freezing months of the growing season. The soils are full of blue clay soils giving this a remarkable fruit profile on the palate.
