Pinot Noir En Billat, Ganevat

Pinot Noir En Billat, Ganevat - 2018

Item # 28752 750mL

This Pinot Noir from a prestigious producer won't disappoint fans of the Jura. This wine combines richness of fruit, minerality, and clear varietal identity. Enjoy it with roasted chicken with mushrooms or with stinky cheeses. This particular parcel was planted by Ganevat at a high altitude on schist soils. The very low-yield grapes are de-stemmed by hand (a very tedious process) and macerate for a long time on their skins. The wine is well-structured with fine tannins.

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...

Jura

Reds from the Jura are often light-bodied, earthy, berried, and reminiscent of the village wines of Burgundy (though here they are made of local grapes like Poulsard and Trousseau). The true specialty of the region,...
