Production Methods

Kosher for Passover

To be certified as Kosher for Passover, wine must be made without leavened grain products, handled only by Sabbath-observant Jews with production overseen by a rabbinical authority. Wines will have a "Kosher for Passover" certification symbol on the label such as the Orthodox Union (OU) symbol and the letters "P" in a circle.

Moscato is a delicious treat. Bartenura brand in particular sweeps this sales category, seeming to have found a sweet spot among kosher and non-kosher drinkers alike. As I watched the lightly colored liquid pour from its blue bottle, I was reminded of my apprehension toward drinking Moscato on a regular basis. Often it seems too sweet for my palate, and it's because some bottles lack an essential balancing element: acid! Immediately the nose on the Bartenura Moscato greeted me with white peach. Its entry is sweet but body is lithe and silky. The finish brought what I hoped it would--a mouth watering sensation coupled with a refreshing spritz, and a desire to take another sip. Pair with your favorite almond macaroons, matzot cake, and fruit.
