Probably one of the only things that I appreciate that this huge (will remain nameless) liquor company did was re-release this Bourbon back into the domestic market back in 2015. I.W. Harper has been a whiskey brand in some form or another since 1872. The I.W. Harper name most likely came from the founder Isaac Wolfe Bernheim. The surname “Harper” was chosen for marketability since Isaac immigrated from Germany in 1867. This high corn mashbill consisting of 86% corn, 6% rye, 8% malted barley, gives a soft, rounded whiskey with plenty of character. Notes of roasted nuts, toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate and warm spices of cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. An excellent value for a 15 year bourbon.
