Richard Stávek has 4.2 ha of vines in Moravia and makes such delicious red wines as this bottle made from the local grapes Sevar and Rubinet. Nearly opaque ruby in color, this lively red wine boasts blueberry fruits, violets and pure, unadulterated character. Reminiscent of a Lacrima di Mora d'Alba from Italy with that tell-tale primary fruit character. Unsulphured. Mlady means young, Bocek is the name of the vineyard plot.
Richard Stávek is one of the pioneers of natural wine in Moravia, starting to produce in the mid 1990’s. Richard is a constant tinkerer and farmer of all sorts. He has begun drying wood staves that will be used to make barrels for the world renowned Austrian barrel-maker, Stockinger. He also makes honey and goat cheese and farms all sorts of crops, not just grapes. He farms 15 hectares of land, with 4.5 hectares of grape vines featuring some little known indigenous grape varieties. Most of his wine are field blended.
