A brilliant innovation from this great coastal distillery. Stroma tranlates to, "islands in the stream," and the spirit of this whisky liqueur reflects the rugged and windswept character of this part of Scotland. Made with lighter and more mature single malts from Old Pulteney and just the right amount of sweetness. A nice balance of salty and sweet flavors play off of one another with notes of toffee, heather, pears and spices. A very fun, easy going, easy to love dram.

History:Distillation was brought to Scotland from Ireland by missionary monks in the 6th century. In 1644, the first taxes were imposed on Scottish distillers by England, with the result that most of the nation’s whisky was soon distilled illicitly. With the Parliament’s passing of the “Excise Act” in 1824, licensing fees for distilleries were much cheaper.
