Craft, history, & innovation are 3 words that come to mind when I think of Scott and Ann, founders & distillers at High Wire Distillery in Charleston SC. After a life of baking pies, brewing coffee, & every sweet treat in between the two wanted to try their hand at distilling a spirit that represents the land it comes from. Deciding to showcase corn flavors as opposed to grain, they discovered Jimmy Red Corn - usually dismissed as livestock feed. High Wire grows their own Jimmy Red, which gives the whiskey an amazing oily texture I’ve never experienced in a spirit. Along with a nose of peanuts & roasted chestnuts & a finish of warm baking spice & even some banana taffy on the palate, this is a bottle unlike any of the huge brands that we’re all used to searching for. THE bottle for Old Fashioneds, discover a whiskey with history & heart.
