New Riff Bottled in Bond Bourbon

Fun fact: bourbon has become such a booming business that in Kentucky there are now twice as many bourbon barrels as there are people. So how does one small distillery stand out in such a crowded field? Through patience, transparency, integrity and focusing on quality. In short, by doing everything right. When Ken Lewis started New Riff in 2014 his goal was to become one of the best small distilleries in the world. Four years later we can finally taste the fruits of his efforts. Without question, this is fine stuff indeed. The mashbill is 65% corn, 30% rye, 5% malted barley,and is bottled in bond without chill filtration. It opens with aromas of caramel, burnt sugar and a hint of smoke, while on the palate it's smooth, rich, full bodied with caramel, creme brulee, peanut brittle, dried fruit, baking spices and a long long finish.
