A heady and intoxicating mezcal with a beguiling level of complexity that seems to have no bottom. Partly derived by from the deft blending of these two types of agave and partly from the nearly four years harmonizing in glass prior to bottling, the mezcal keeps you drawn in with its kaleidoscopic flavors while achieving a level of drinkability that is rare for something of this intensity. Notes include winter melon, dried red chiles, Melipona honey, avocado leaf, green peppercorn, wet stone, mineral and fermented coconut.

From the tiny village of Candelaria Yegolé along the Rio Quiechapa where at least 7 varietals of agave grow wild. Romulo Sanchez Parada leads a family crew with over 70 years of mezcal making experience. With all those varietals, it is very comman to blend and this Cuishe/Sierra Negra is a fine example. This batch was aged for 4 years in glass and bottled for Astor exclusively. That aging really guilds the lily on what is a trully astounding Mezcal with a finish that gets in your memory and stays with you for days.
