L'Encantada Renaissance 15yr Domaine Le Freche Bas-Armagnac - 2006

This new collection from the premier bottlers of Armagnac highlights exceptional casks from producers that define what great Armagnac is. Some of these producers are so small they may only produce a single cask per vintage, and other producers have ceased to make brandy altogether making these remaining casks even more rare. Aside from Louis Pibous, Domaine Le Freche may be the most important name in the Armagnac at the moment. Revered for their consistent quality and old school style of deeply concentrated brandies. Bottled from a single cask made during the 2006 vintage and bottled after a decade and a half of aging. Big, bold, high toned and intense nonetheless the palate is round and luxurious, well balanced and dry and spicy on the mellow but long finish – but give this one some time - opens up tremendously. Very limited.
