Mio, Sparkling Sake

Mio is the Japanese word for light, shallow water in oceans or rivers and refers to the flow of water and the foam formed from a passing ship - metaphors for the lower alcohol content and gentle effervescence in this sparkling aperitif style sake. Shirakabegura spares no expense in producing premium sake that highlights the natural flavor of rice, with no flavoring agents or sweeteners - they happen to hold the longest gold medal streak in the history of Japan Sake Awards. Mio is refreshingly light and bright on the palate with notes of pear, white peach and plum, and a touch of sweetness.
