Willett Family Estate 4yr Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

As I stroll the shelves of any Bourbon isle, there are a few key indicators that one might look for to stop and inspect closer. None in my opinion could be more agreed upon than the Purple Top of a Willett Bottle. When I met with Drew Kulsveen just prior to the release of this Estate 4yr Small Batch release, I was blown away that the same care and craft present in the Single Barrel series was present in this bottle. This Bourbon is bright and bold, with signature note of fresh honey and orange peel. Well refined in it's barrel maturity, you can experience long, viscus notes of cigar box and leather. Expect nothing less from a high proof, non-chill filtered Bourbon. But what astounded out team in tasting was the delicate notes of mint and bay laurel that wafted through this powerhouse spirit. What a welcome addition to the Willett lineup!
