1792 Astor Select Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey - 2018

I recently had the pleasure of tasting this single barrel and was reminded of why I loved their Small Batch Bourbon. There is prominent oak influence and baking spices on the nose. The palate brings notes of hazelnut pralines, toasted marshmallow, and lots of caramel. Every single note on this bourbon is incredibly concentrated and a reminder of just how special this bourbon is. The single barrel was sourced from floor 7, which is one of the highest floors in Barton 1792's rickhouse and the level of concentration and depth of flavor on this one is a testament to that fact. I would be eager to recommend this bourbon to single barrel fans and as an introduction to first-time single barrel consumers. Give this one a try, it's well worth it!
