Burgundy

Burgundy is in many ways the locus of the contemporary world of wine, even if its traditions are not new by any means. The winemaking techniques invented here, paired with the terroir-specific viticulture, are a rebellion against industrialized, large-scale winemaking. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are two of the most planted grapes worldwide, and both call this region home. From exquisite and age-worthy grand crus, to sparkling crémants and simple village wines, Burgundy offers everyday pleasures and once in a lifetime bottles. Its labyrinthine appellations offer something for every palate.
