New York's Finger Lakes wine region is an exciting, dynamic, and up-and-coming region producing interesting and fantastic wines. Its fame has been based on Riesling, its signature vitis vinifera grape, but a wide array of varieties grow here. The picturesque slopes of the lakes provide ideal drainage for vines, from racy dry Riesling, to refreshing and light Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir, to Rkatsiteli and Saperavi from Georgia,Teroldego, and hybrid grapes. The region's diversity is impressive.
