Listán Negro Tradicional, Los Bermejos - 2022

Item # 23436 750mL

Listán Negro is a native grape grown on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. This red grape is low in tannins, reminiscent of Gamay, and lends itself well to the volcanic, black soils of the vineyard. The fierce winds coming from the Sahara desert and the Atlantic ocean require the vines to be planted in literal holes in the ground called hoyos. 100% Listán Negro aged 5 months in French oak from the Allier forest. The more structured and concentrated of Ignacio Valdera's wines.

Staff Pick Notes

A wonderful warm weather red that is both quaffable yet rounded and a perfect pair with a variety of meals. Deep raspberry and dark rhubarb lead and a stony fresh yet lightly oak driven finish leave the palate craving another sip... or three
