Moulin-à-Vent "Les Michelons", Yohan Lardy - 2021

Item # 30657 750mL

Winemaker Yohan Lardy had the good fortune of inheriting some Gamay vines from 1910. This is a pulpy, dark Gamay that's full of dark berries and delicious fresh acidity. A fuller style of Beaujolais that drinks well with your next plate of charcuterie.

Staff Pick Notes

In these uncertain times, there's at least one thing we can be certain of: Cru Beaujolais is great. Moulin-à-Vent in particular for me is always comforting, as it's wonderful on its own and is very versatile when paired with food. It's delicious in its youth and typically ages very gracefully. This Michelons from Yohan Lardy is simply delicious: straightforward yet lovely notes of bright cherries, groseilles, and raspberries, light to medium-bodied, and just begging to be enjoyed alongside a steak tartare. Life is complicated enough, so if you're in need of an unfussy yet refined wine, have faith in this glorious Gamay.

Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness of a California wine, yet retain a very Burgundian, mineral-driven core and great acidity....

Beaujolais Nouveau is perhaps the most gulpable wine made anywhere, and it should be drunk very soon after its release, which occurs each year on the...
