My favorite part of winter is the end. When it officially stops being too cold to sit outside and have enjoy a meal or a drink without layers and heat lamps. For me that also signals the start of margarita season! I love a good spicy margarita, and was delighted when I tried the Ancho Reyes Verde. It's made using young Poblano chilis native to Puebla, Mexico. They are roasted then mashed and macerated in neutral spirit. The result is incredibly bright and fresh, with depth and complexity you won't find in your basic muddled jalapeño spicy marg. Here is how I make mine:

1.5 oz blanco tequila
1 oz Ancho Reyes Verde
1 oz lime juice
.5 oz triple sec
Shaken with ice then strained and served with lime and a salt rim. You can also top it with Topo Chico to make more of a session cocktail.
