Tasting Notes

The Chiquet brothers are incredibly excited about the release of this cuvée and believe that it may be their best release in the 700-series to date. The base is from the 2015 vintage and from fruit from the villages of Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, Avize and Oiry. Some reserve wine completes the blend. Zero dosage.

Staff Pick Notes

2013 wasn’t exactly a “coy” vintage in Champagne. A cold snowy winter, damp spring, and a summer full of dry heat. The base wine from this year of pendulum conditions emerged as something truly alive and kicking. While there are small percentages of reserve wine in this cuvée the 2013 juice is what really shines. The palate is chock full of citrus and cream, swinging gracefully between tart and sweet. Let your glass aerate and you’ll find everything has somehow become richer. This is champagne teeming with energy and eager to strut its stuff. Two qualities that I love in young champagne.

Terroir,...

Remember that “Non-Vintage” (NV) is not a dirty word here: NV Champagnes are blends of wines from the best growing seasons. But if you can find one, try a Champagne made by a Grower-Producer. These winemakers control every...

Chardonnay

From Champagne to Chablis, it's hard (not to mention unpleasant) to avoid this famous white variety. During a huge popularity surge beginning in the late 1980s, Chardonnay plantings have increased dramatically -- not only in California's wine country, with which the variety is nearly synonymous, but also in Burgundy (its original, Old World home) and just about everywhere else in the winemaking...
