Don’t overlook this Montepulciano just because it’s not your standard Barossa Shiraz from down under. You may not expect to see a grape from the Adriatic side of Italy thriving in south Australia, but the variety is well suited to the hot, dry climate. The hallmarks of the Montepulciano grape shine in this hemisphere’s terroir as brightly as they do in Abruzzo. What else do you need besides the right balance of bright cherry fruit, acidity and spice? Maybe a good dose of irreverence and innovation & luckily that’s exactly what this bottle offers.
