Roditis "Rawditis," Oenops - 2018

Item # 39399 750mL

This is an orange wine that gets it's amber color from 28 days of skin contact. Made from the Roditis grape and showing flavors of mandarin, apricot and grilled lemon. There is soft leather texture and a tannic quality that makes it a great choice for the table, especially when serving cheese, grilled meats and poultry. Oenops is a new project founded by winemaker Nikos Karatzas. This wine spent six months aging on the lees and was bottled unfiltered and without added sulfites.

Glossary

Roditis

A rosé colored grape used primarily to make the light white wines of Patra. Crisp and dry, with aromas of citrus and honeysuckle, this is a good grape to try in place of your daily Pinot Grigio. This varietal is frequently blended with Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer to make richer, more full-bodied whites, and with Savatiano to make Retsina.
