Tasting Notes

Made from 95% Cinsault and 5% Pais from dry-farmed, bush-trained vineyards that are over 60 years old. Fermented with native yeast in old barrels with minimal sulfur. You'll find floral aromas and right red fruit on the palate. An exciting new find from Chile.

Staff Pick Notes

Itata valley is emerging as one of Chile's premier wine regions. Ideally located between the Andes and the Pacific coast (near Concepción) and filled with granite dense soils, it is a terroir paradise. Rogue Vine's "Grand Itata" has an elegance from Cinsault, grown throughout the region, blended with País to brighten it up. Organically farmed on a vineyard planted in 1960, un-filtered, and using native yeast. All of these practices contribute to wine with a sense of place and style. Intoxicating notes of singed wood and black tea fade into lush currants on the finish. Delicate, adventurous, liberating.
