Production Methods

Wine made from grapes grown organically using natural composting techniques and special preparations of herbal sprays while following the astronomical calendar.

Tasting Notes

It's interesting to see meaningful producers who nod to tradition yet push limits. A first for us as the incredible growers at Château Peybonhomme are growing a Portuguese and Rhône Valley right in the heart of Bordeaux. This is an excellent, full-bodied red wine that anyone can appreciate for it's vigor and fruit profile.

Staff Pick Notes

Syrah and Touriga Nacional in the Gironde? Uncommon to say the least but our good friends at Hubert Vignerons have pulled it off and then some, creating an exciting, original wine at a great price, striking a balance between old world sensibilities and forward-looking, new-world innovation and flavor profiles. If you like red blends from California, you’d get along famously with this wine, but any Bordeaux purists out there will also love it. Aromas of toasty oak, gorgeous red fruit, and gentle eucalyptus lead us to a medium-bodied palate where the Syrah brings the spice and the Touriga brings rhubarb tart and plucky green herbaceous and floral notes. Produced according to the strict standards of ‘vin demeter,’ which means everything from grapes to bottle are certified biodynamic. 50% Syrah, 25% Touriga National, 15% Malbec, 10% Merlot.

Let it never be said, however, that Shiraz and Syrah are the same thing: the region in which the grape is grown determines much about the flavor of the wine it...

Situated on the mid-Atlantic coast of France around the Gironde river, Bordeaux is home to some of the most legendary wines on earth. There are (for all intents and purposes) five grape varieties permitted under French wine law for red Bordeaux: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and, very infrequently, Petit Verdot and Malbec. For white Bordeaux, only three varieties are permitted:...
