One of America's most prevalent spirits, rye whiskey, has long been one of NYC's most adorned libations. The Ragtime Rye from NY Distilling Co. captures the jazzy, whimsical essence of an era of saloons, ragtime music, and dancing the night away sipping an old fashioned. The palate opens with gorgeously choreographed notes of rye crumb cake on the front end, then finishes with a melodic trailing of white fruit, pepper, and spice. Distilled singularly and exclusively at NY Distilling Co, with a mash bill of 75% NY rye, 13% corn, and 12% malted barley, it can technically be classified as an Empire Rye, a style unique to NY. So the next time you're in the market for a solid expression of American whiskey, don't ask why, ask "rye not?" ( I couldn't resist)
