Tasting Notes

Joseph Washington Dant is a very old American Whiskey label named after the man who used to distill it in the early 19th Century using a log still made from hollowed out oak at the time to make the spirit. While things have modernized a bit, this whiskey is still decidedly old school both in character and cost delivering a reliable quality product for a solid value. The Bourbon is rich in flavors of pecan pie, apple streudel, cinnamon stick, maple syrup, roasted marshmallow and warm, buttered cornbread.

Staff Pick Notes

There are a lot of expensive bourbons that are not worth the price tags that hang around their necks. While on the flip side there’s lots of cheap bourbon that over deliver what their prices promise. This is one of those bourbons. JW Dant is an old school bourbon that has resurfaced today. The whole experience is decadently sweet and savory. Creamy texture with notes of pecans, pastry crust, baked apples, clarified butter, and bonfire roasted marshmallows. Stop chasing flashy labels with mediocre whiskey behind it when there are treasures like this right in front of you.
