Drouin's entry level Calvados is a bottle I like to keep around in my bar once the weather starts getting colder. It's a nice sipper as it's not too sweet; the taste is a lot like apple juice. Older versions will be more complex, but I appreciate the entry-level version for its simplicity. Made from apple and pear, it mostly tastes like apples. Best of all, it is one of the rare spirits that pairs nicely with food. I like to drink it when I'm having a really simple dinner like cooked ham, cheese, and walnuts.
