Passopisciaro, Etna Rosso - 2024

Passorosso is made from very old vines, about eighty years old; the vines were planted at different altitudes and the grapes were selected from different parcels of the land. On the nose, you can enjoy red berry and baking spices, while in the palate, sour cherry and citrus flavors are notable. Medium acidity, chewy tannins, and pronounced minerality make this wine complex and interesting. Minerality comes from the volcanic soils typical of this region. Because of its tannic structure, this wine can age for an additional few years in the cellar, but I personally like the raciness of it now. I would pair it with roasted meat dishes. A beautiful example of Etna Rosso!
