Staff Pick Notes

With only 14% of the total production exported, you should always explore Bergerac wines. They are a great value and a good representation of terroir. Chateau le Payral has been in the Thierry family for six generations, and is now operated by Thierry and Isabelle Daulhiac. They have been organic since 2005 and work the soil using biodynamic principles. This is a great pick for the Merlot lover. The palate is earthy with a good deal of dark fruit. The rustic nature of this wine is friendly, as it somehow feels elegant and warm. Great as an aperitif and with any type of light dinner.
