Staff Pick Notes

Many regions of France have a version of this style of apertif, where fresh grape juice is mixed with some young or fresh distillate. Called many names from Vin de Liquer to Mistelle to Pineau des Charentes from Cognac, Macvin in Jura and also Pommeau made from fresh cider and Calvados. Here the focus is on freshness and primary flavors. Bright ripe orchard fruit with some tropical fruit undertones hit you at first but there is a nice amount of acidity from the base grape juice. The acidity gives the Floc a nice lift on the palate making for a pleasant finish, not as cloying as some dessert wines. This Floc's for you!
