The top white of the Chapoutier lineup. Serious focus and delineation of the terroir are apparent. Rich full-bodied wine with incredible aromas and flavors of buttered citrus, flower bloom, poached pear, and rock-like minerality. One of the few wines that can be kept in cellar 50+ years. L'Ermite is situated at the top of the Hermitage hill, around the chapel. The vines are 80-years-old and are situated on very poor granitic soils; this wine aged in new and one-year-old casks for 18 to 20 months.
